Product Description

Viking Offroad refuses to cut corners on its product manufacturing.  This means you end up with the highest quality winchline on the market…a product you can trust better than any other to get the job done. It all begins with genuine Dyneema SK-75 fiber woven in the USA under the highest levels of quality control to ensure consistent rope quality strength.

Additional features that clearly set Viking Offroad in its own class include an exceptionally tough rock guard sleeve and an original rope splice that competitors have imitated.  The rock guard sleeve is made to specification for a heavy-woven polyester that resists tears and UV breakdown. The Viking Offroad class II rope splice is comprised of a rope that is embedded nearly two feet back into itself with a flexible nylon lock stitch to keep the splice from accidentally coming apart. This splice is approximately 10% stronger than that of most competitors. Viking Offroad will not sacrifice on quality, so it invests the extra time and rope required to make the best product on the market that you can rely on.

It all begins with genuine Dyneema SK-75 fiber woven in the USA under the highest levels of quality control to ensure consistent rope quality strength.

Viking Offroad product quality is evident all the way down to the details.  For example, take a look at the several options available for your winchline connection:

  1. Choose one of the best hooks available (Excel or Gunnebo Hooks) coupled with an extra heavy-duty steel Tube Thimble that is specially coated with a highly chip-resistant Thermo Plastic Powder Coating.
  2. The Viking Offroad method for bolted drum connections is the strongest method that exists.  It includes a powder-coated steel connector through which the line is looped with a stainless steel button-head bolt. The smooth finish on this bolt significantly reduces the chances of any cuts on the rope and the end allows the winchline to clamp down making it virtually impossible to unravel.

Note:
  • Prevent accidentally cut winchlines by making sure the opening of your winch bumper or winch mounting plate is 3/8” larger on all sides than the fairlead opening.  See our article, "Avoiding Cut Winchlines."
  • Avoid direct excessive heat contact, always freespool the winchline out for winches with brakes inside the winch drum.  In other words, avoid powering out planetary gear winches whenever possible because it activates the winch brake that builds up heat from the center of the winch drum.  If you must power out, do so in 20-foot lengths of rope or less with breaks long enough to cool down the drum.
  • Always follow your winch manufacturer's recommendations for safe winching and get trained by a professional winch recovery trainer.  It best to find a trainer through a reputable organization like the International 4 Wheel Drive Trainer's Association
